debut of good sheep better dogs

So, it was officially announced today that canada was out of recession. That;s good news for everyone right? Lately I have been unable to follow the market news completely,but here's what I remember from the the 3rd quarter numbers. profits or EPS were up for the 2nd consecutive quarter interestingly revenues were down for a 4th consecutive quarter. The companies kept chipping away at expenses to improve bottom lines. Not exactly what you orI would call growth. Wait there's more good news. Banks are stregthening there bottom line and thats good for all of us. I know it is good because the banks are willing to take on risk with your aspirations ( what they said no to you?) Well at least you can get a healthy return in GICs and term deposits right?
Look the story they tell you is a half truth at best by my veiw. Much of the wealth that has been created for the past 25 years is what I term artificial. It was made in financial services and services of other types. Production of real goods declined over that same period. Now you know why it's called goods & services tax. basic economics classes taught 30 years ago pointed out that if an economy did not produce a consumable product it would shrink. what has changed in 30 years we still breathe and still need to eat and drink remain in an upright position not?
what happened was it became a right for the western world to eat for free and to not have to put in a full days work. Shame on us!!! compare that attitude to other cultures on the globe.
First we work hard then we eat then we sleep. If we have a few extra minutes left then we play. As a society we messed up our priorities we always get what we deserve.
Think about your life priorities and you will discover that banks, cos. govt. behaved just as we did. Jeesh thats not good.
Next time I am going to adress the good sheep better dogs in a literal sense. This week was the good sheep segment in the human context. think about that for a while.
